Pulling inspiration from Wong Kar-Wai’s 1995 neo-noir film Fallen Angels and Gaspar Noe’s 2018 psychological horror film Climax, the visual for new single plays into the 1950s jukebox pop feel of “Winter Baby” before transitioning to its more contemporary twin “New Jersey Blues” with the incorporation of distorted 808 bass.
With Lily-Rose in the role of a classic femme fatale and Shake as her elusive love interest, they defy the public’s judgment and deliriously pursue each other like rebels to the world, setting the stage for Shake’s forthcoming gothic epic.
Since her first release in 2016, the New Jersey native has become known for her emotional vocal delivery and futuristic production, combining elements of hip-hop, pop and electronic. Shake released her critically acclaimed debut album Modus Vivendi in 2020, followed by You Can’t Kill Me in 2022.
She has since collaborated with the likes of Christine and the Queens on "True Love", and RAYE on the number one charting single, "Escapism".
