Fourteen people were hospitalized during The Chainsmokers‘ concert in San Jose, California, on Friday night after emergency crews responded to a wave of medical calls at the outdoor show. The San Jose Fire Department was called to Discovery Meadow around 8:22 p.m. on September 4th following calls stating that multiple attendees needed medical attention. As the number of patients grew, officials dispatched an ambulance task force, two advanced life support units, and a battalion chief to the venue. In total, 14 ambulances responded, and 14 people were transported to local hospitals. San Jose police did, however, say some concertgoers were treated for “suspected alcohol intoxication and drug-related issues.” No arrests were reported in connection with the incidents.
