Accessory – “This Is Not Your Life (Static)”

The Accessory singles have been good. "Calcium"? One of the best songs of the week. "Safeword"? Didn't make the list, but still great. Now we have "This Is Not Your Life (Static)," a song that somehow feels small and big at the same time.

"I wanted to capture that feeling of that moment in love when you cease to be the central figure in your own story," Jason Balla says. He adds that the song "is about vulnerability and commitment and the beauty of submission. It’s life in the service of something beyond. As the song continues it becomes less about transcendence and slides into the realm of obsessive regret, depression and the lasting grip of intimacy now past."
