Aerosmith Retire from Touring Due to Steven Tyler’s Vocal Injury

Aerosmith are retiring from touring effective immediately after concluding that frontman Steven Tyler will not be able to recover from his vocal injury.

Previously, Aerosmith postponed their planned farewell tour after Tyler sustained vocal cord damage and fractured his larynx during a concert in September 2023. Although the band had announced rescheduled dates to begin in September 2024, those plans have now been canceled, and the band has decided that no further touring is possible.

In a statement released Friday afternoon, Aerosmith said: “We’ve always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.”
