Aesop Rock and Blockhead Reveal Next Joint Album

Longtime collaborators Aesop Rock and Blockhead have another album on the way. Trouble Mountain, the follow-up to 2021’s co-billed Garbology, features guest verses from Open Mike Eagle, Hanni El Khatib, and more. The full tracklist is below along with the first single and an animated music video of a man skiing through a hellish landscape. In a statement, Aesop clarifies that while he has never actually skied, he was around it growing up thanks to relatives who lived in the Poconos. “I spent many weekends there as a kid—though, of course not in a sick party lodge,” he writes. “Trouble Mountain is me and Blockhead’s (fake) Ski Lodge where you might meet your future spouse or you might have to fight some local ski gangs - (which I assume is a thing.) Anything can happen. (It’s a metaphor for life, y’all!).”You can learn more about those local ski gangs when the album drops November 13 on RhymesayersTrouble Mountain01 Swedish Death Cleaning02 Coyote Summer (feat.
