Alanis Morissette Accuses Former Tour Manager Of Extorting Her With Drug Trafficking Claims

Alanis Morissette is coming off a triumphant weekend performing alongside Olivia Rodrigo at her Daisy Chain Fields festival, but not all is well in Morissette's world. She just sued her former tour manager, accusing her of an extortion plot.In a six-page complaint filed Tuesday in US District Court, Morissette accused Keren Urinov of attempting to blackmail her, Courthouse News reports. Specifically, she's suing for civil extortion, fraud, and negligent misrepresentation.According to the lawsuit, Morissette hired Urinov, the former head of Live Nation Israel, to be her temporary tour manager last year. While traveling from the UK to Spain, the British Border Force arrested Urinov after finding marijuana and xylazine in her bag. At the time, Urinov admitted to the authorities that the bag belonged to her and showed them her Israeli medical marijuana license.At the end of the tour, Urinov and her lawyer allegedly sent Morissette a series of "increasingly extortionate" letters.
