Amelia Dimoldenberg has announced the final series of her long-running, algorithm-conquering interview series Chicken Shop Date. The deadpan host welcomed the likes of Paul McCartney, Billie Eilish, Dave, and Sabrina Carpenter across a 12-year run, posing acerbic, flirty, and fearless questions that used spontaneity and awkwardness to jolt guests off script. The decision to wind down the series will allow her to “move on from this adventure and onto the next one,” she said in a statement.Dimoldenberg founded Chicken Shop Date at 17, as a print column for a London magazine called The Cut (no relation to the New York title) run out of a youth center in northwest London. Her initial purview was grime, and, once the column turned into a webseries, her offbeat interview style earned access to luminaries of the genre.
