Basscon Records’ Sixth ‘Devotions’ Compilation Packs a Punch

**Basscon Records calls on the next generation of hard dance producers, including Quarkee, Dev Lesh, B-Elementz, and more, for Devotions: Chapter VI.**

About once a year, Basscon Records delivers the latest installment of its now-iconic compilation series, Devotions. Every edition of the series has spotlighted rising talent in the hard dance scene, and it’s become a fan-favorite as the home for unique records that otherwise wouldn’t be released on the label.

Now, Basscon Records is finally back with Devotions: Chapter VI. There was some initial hesitation that Devotions was moving toward becoming a hard techno-focused series, given the fifth installment‘s track selection. However, with the creation of Insomniac’s newest brand and record label, MUTATE, it seems that that the mix series has also course-corrected to spotlight the traditional harder styles.

Basscon Records immediately transports fans to Norway for State One‘s record, “Critical.” State One is known to draw from many genres, and this is apparent as the track begins with some bounce before transitioning into a drop filled with PVC kicks. This track has an epic climax as an electrifying melody is backed by raw kicks.

Resensed then comes on to highlight zaagkicks in his track, “Party All Night.” Despite the melody in the beginning and the bouncy break, this track is anything but melodic. There are two brutal drops that deliver the polarizing zaagkicks with eerie screeches. The final drop, however, does mix in some euphoric elements as Resensed gives his take on zaagphoric.

“Breaking Through” by Twisted Melodiez follows, and this one is a truly special one. Throughout his career, he has stayed true to his euphoric hardstyle roots despite the scene’s call for the more extreme sounds of rawstyle and XTRA RAW. This has only helped him become an expert in pushing the limits of euphoric hardstyle, which is apparent in this brand-new record.

After a short trip to Europe, fans are brought back to the States for a new track from the CEO of Hard Dance — and one of EDM Identity’s Artists to Watch in 2026 — Dev Lesh. He teams up with the absolute unit Mutil8, on “I Got This Love.” Both artists styles are apparent on this track, but they seamlessly combine cohesively. It truly embodies the spirit of American Hard Dance: fresh ideas, hybrid energy, and music that doesn’t fit the cookie-cutter vision of hardstyle’s purist ideology.

Up next is a personal favorite as Quarkee delivers his latest tune, “Melodia CCCIII: Acida.” For the uninitiated, he is one of the most underrated kick designers on American soil whose ideas are a breath of fresh air, and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the scene notices.

“Melodia CCCIII: Acida” showcases these features as the first drop is out-of-the-box with wild sound design that can only be appreciated on great headphones or a live speaker system. The second drop is more traditional with raw kicks and a golden melody, proving that he can be just as good as the European counterpart.

CREST is the final international artist on Devotions: Chapter VI with his track, “TO END.” He does a great job showcasing pure hardstyle with an energizing melody that leads into a drop that tinkers the fine line of euphoric hardstyle and rawstyle.

B-Elementz, who has chosen to master the melodic-forward euphoric hardstyle genre, then rounds off this compilation with “Breathe You In.” The track is a testament to his craft. The first drop of “Breathe You In” is dedicated to rougher elements like distorted screeches and punchy kicks. However, the final drop wraps everything nicely with a beautiful melody that’s backed by the classic crunchy kicks that euphoric hardstyle is known for.

Devotions: Chapter VI is easily one of the biggest standouts in the compilation series. It feels like Basscon Records finally went back to the roots of Devotions, which is to showcase new artists with unique ideas for the scene.
