Legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has unleashed the new song “Deified” to coincide with his recently announced cologne of the same name.
The epic track, written by Iommi, features the riff master’s sensational guitar playing and an orchestral chorus, making for a highly dramatic work.
Three years ago, Iommi unveiled his first cologne, Scent of Dark, which was also accompanied by a song of the same name. In speaking about the new track, the guitar icon remarked, “‘Deified’ is a heavier, more medieval track than ‘Scent of Dark.’ We’ve added voices and beefed up the overall sound.”
For “Deified,” Iommi was joined in the studio by keyboardist Mike Exeter (who co-produced the track with Iommi), drummer Karl Brazil, and bassist Laurence Cottle, with orchestration by Ben Andrew.
The song is accompanied by a mostly animated music video, which was created under the direction of Sergio Momo, the CEO of the fragrance company Xerjoff.
