Blue Bendy Launch New Album With “Dragonslayer” Video

Blue Bendy will return early next year with One Day This Will All Be Lore, the follow-up to their 2024 debut of absurdist indie-pop confessionals, So Medieval. Completed after a brief hiatus and the exit of two founding members, the album arrives on January 29, 2027. With the announcement comes a video directed by the London-based band’s own synthesist Olivia Morgan. Watch it below.The departure of Blue Bendy co-founders Harrison Charles and Oscar Tebbutt is attributed, in a press release, to the struggles with alcoholism of frontperson Arthur Nolan (pictured crouching in the foreground). Charles and Tebbutt are replaced by bassist Dina Willcock and drummer Tristan Petsola; original guitarists Joe Nash and Oliver Chester-Nolan, alongside Morgan and Nolan, complete the lineup. A 2025 episode in which a recovering Nolan fell off the wagon, was marooned in Germany, and came around in a sanatorium in Cologne is documented in an album track called “The Tiger Who Came to Tea.”Nolan says of “Dragonslayer,” “I was trying to subvert some Arthurian chivalry in a modern context.
