Sometimes metal shows can be a real bad experience for everyone involved. A recent set from Canadian power metal band The Scepter, meanwhile, proved to be a life-affirming experience for all parties. As CTV points out (via The PRP), The Scepter were recently asked by Bruyère Health in Ottawa, Canada to perform a special in-center set for Tim Berry. A 27-year-old “metalhead,” Berry faces medical challenges that otherwise prevent him from attending concerts as he’d hoped. So, The Scepter joined forces with local venue Dominion Tavern to stage a free show in a Bruyère board room, complete with hospital staff dressing Berry in a metal tee and freshly-painted nails. (Berry was also joined by other patients of the facility for the performance.) By all accounts, it was a genuinely badass metal concert (that also proved absolutely heartfelt and totally charming.) Of the event, Bruyère Health clinical chaplain Roshene Lawson said, “I had nurses coming up to me after and hugging me and tearing up and saying, ‘I’m so glad Tim got to have this.'” Meanwhile, guitarist Josh Collins said the show proved especially emotional, adding that “we were happy to have our sunglasses on.” Check out pics an...
