Carlos Santana postpones Las Vegas residency after breaking finger in fall

Carlos Santana has been forced to postpone an upcoming residency in Las Vegas after breaking his finger in a fall.

The legendary guitarist had been due to play a string of eight shows at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, running from January 22 to February 2, however, the concerts will no longer go ahead as planned.

As his manager Michael Vrionis explained, Santana was taking a walk at his vacation home in Kauai, Hawaii when he “took a hard fall” and broke the little finger on his left hand. “He had to have pins inserted in the finger,” Vrionis continued (via Consequence).

“Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks. Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully.”

No information has yet been provided about when the shows may eventually be played.

“Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon,” Vrionis added. “He just needs to heal. Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern. He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”

2025 is primed to be a busy year for Santana, after the group recently announced a set of UK headline shows for this summer. They will play gigs at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, Manchester’s Co-op Live and London’s O2 in June, after a run of dates in Budapest, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna and Cologne.

The 2025 ‘Oneness’ tour is set to see Santana “perform high-energy, passion-filled songs from their 50-year career, including fan favourites from ‘Abraxas’ to Woodstock to ‘Supernatural’, and beyond”. Find any remaining tickets for the shows here.

In addition to the European shows, Santana are also due to play another Vegas residency in May as well as a series of shows around the US in April. See their full list of 2025 tour dates here.

Santana released their 26th and most recent studio album, ‘Blessings And Miracles’, in 2021. A documentary film about the group’s frontman, titled Carlos, arrived in 2023.
