Monday we received the news that Carly Rae Jepsen has a new double album in the queue. Day And Night boasts 24 tracks: 12 daytime jams described as "organic and raw, with live instrumentation and hints of '70s-inspired psychedelic pop," plus 12 for the nighttime "exploratory and intense, shifting into a sleek, synth-driven world of dance-pop."
Lead single "On Wires," out today, is from the daytime disc. It's living up to that description above thanks to a lush piano-led arrangement that feels like a live band. "I want to be more than friends for the week," CRJ sings. Things get briefly explosive when she declares, "I want you," but the casual-yet-luxurious '70s afternoon vibe persists.
Jepsen wrote "On Wires" with Nate Cyphert and producer Kyle Shearer. Listen below.
Day And Night is out 9/18 on Interscope.
