Caroline Rose Announces New Album Gentling The Horse At The Walt Whitman Mall: Hear “Chow Mein”

Last year, Caroline Rose leaked their own album year of the slug, which was recorded on GarageBand into a phone. The lo-fi atmosphere made the songs special, but Rose is upping the ante. Today the singer-songwriter is announcing her new LP Gentling The Horse At The Walt Whitman Mall, and the second single "Chow Mein" boasts amusing extravagance.Gentling The Horse At The Walt Whitman Mall was produced by John Congleton, and the announcement follows May's "Yip Yip Yow," which appears on the record. About "Chow Mein," Rose says, "I relate to characters who are a little strange, who are outsiders, who seem to fuck up a lot or find themselves in awkward situations. Most of these stories are just pulled directly from scenes in my own life, so the character is basically always some version of myself.
