CeX is reportedly opening two new stores dedicated to retro games

UK video game retailer CeX is planning to open two new stores dedicated solely to retro physical video games, according to a report. The exciting news – entirely unofficial and unconfirmed by anyone at the company – was shared by YouTube channel Retro Ghetto, which claims to have been tipped off by “an unnamed CeX source”. According to the YouTuber, the first dedicated CeX retro store will be opened on Bull Street in Birmingham city centre, right next to an existing CeX outlet. In the video, Retro Ghetto claims that the new spin-off store will be named either ReX or Retro XChange. He also says that the retro-only CeX store will open during this year’s festive period or at the start of 2027. In the video, Retro Ghetto goes on to claim that a second “ReX” store is also in the pipeline, though he doesn’t disclose its location. “Apparently, this is very hush hush, even amongst CeX staff.
