Chastity Belt – “Friends For This”

Seattle indie rock mainstays Chastity Belt are gearing up for the release of their new album All My Friends — no relation to LCD Soundsystem — at the end of the week. They've been previewing the album in two-song chunks, sharing "I Could Say Less" and "Pavement" followed by "To Decide" and "Designs." Today, we're getting one last single, the lovely "Friends For This."

"I wrote the lyrics for this song right after moving back from England," says guitarist/vocalist Lydia Lund. "It was a time where it felt sooo good to reconnect with my friends after spending the last two years away from Seattle. We had lots of sleepovers. We had a lot of fun recording vocals for this song in my basement with Julia, Gretchen and Samur. Gretchen recorded some pretty amazing wales for the end of this song. I think if you listen really closely, you can hear them." Listen below.
