Christina Hendricks pulled one of the coolest April Fool’s day pranks ever. She announced a free DJ night at one of San Diego’s hottest bars, Part Time Lover, and then actually showed up for a four-hour long set of indie, shoegaze, dream pop hits. Ha!

Wait, that’s no joke. The Mad Men and Toy Story 4 star really did spin a killer collection of vinyl for a packed bar of fools patrons. According to The MATMAG Substack, Hendricks spent the dancing and singing behind the ones-and-twos, flanked by her husband George Bianchini as she laid down some sick slabs.
The setlist included tracks from Chromatics, Japanese Breakfast, Sky Ferreira, St. Vincent, Broken Bells, Beach House, Warpaint, Cocteau Twins, Mitski, Lana Del Rey, Banks The Stone Roses, and dozens more. MATMAG’s Phillip Gutgesell managed to jot down all 46 songs Hendricks played, and we made it into a Spotify playlist so you can recreate your own Christina Hendricks DJ night. Listen to it and see some videos from the night below, along with the complete setlist.
A look back at Hendricks’ Instagram timeline reveals her first turn at the turntables came back in the fall, when she got a lesson from harpist Mary Lattimore (Thurston Moore, Kurt Vile, Julianna Barwick). The April Fool’s set was all Hendricks, though. With vinyl popularity at an all time high (sales of the physical format reached over $1 billion for the first time last year) and the heat coming out of Part Time Lover, something tells us this won’t be the last we see of DJ Hendricks.
