CKY Frontman on Punching Alien Ant Farm Singer: “Nothing Wrong with Defending Yourself from a Bad Guy”

CKY were recently removed from their tour with Alien Ant Farm after the bands’ frontmen got into physical altercation, with CKY’s Chad I Ginsburg allegedly punching Dryden Mitchell of Alien Ant Farm.

Ginbsurg has now offered up his side of the story, insisting that his actions were in self-defense.

“Nothing wrong with defending yourself from a bad guy,” wrote Ginsburg on his Instagram stories. “If you are attacked or feel truly threatened, have no fear and stop the threat however you can.”

As previously reported, Mitchell issued a statement recounting the events the led up to the alleged altercation in a post to social media on Saturday (November 9th). As he told it, Ginsburg was abusive to “multiple crew members and opening band members” and flipped over a table in the dressing room and threw his phone. Mitchell then met with CKY’s manager, which is when Ginsburg apparently punched him in the face.

On the other hand, Ginbsurg maintains he was on the defensive. Per Metal Injection, the CKY singer also accused Mitchell and some Alien Ant Farm fans of using racial slurs, sharing screenshots on his Instagram stories.

“I had to protect myself,” wrote Ginsburg. “It was a split second reaction to a very angry guy muttering then yelling #*%! at me from 10ft away charging at ME, into my personal space! Coming at me. He was attacking me! , I felt a physical threat and had I not tried to avoid the attack, I would have been assaulted. for fucks sake.”

He continued: “I could say so much more. But situation sucks for all! I’d like to stop. Rather not get all into all. It’s no one’s biz. This is not news. . as unfortunate as the situation is all together.”

Ginsburg went on to lament the fact that CKY would not be able to play their scheduled UK dates of the tour, a continent where the band has a large fanbase. He also informed fans that their tickets can be refunded.

“It is no secret that the UK is CKY’s favorite place to play and the ticket sales prove that as well out of all this,” Ginsburg added, “nothing hurts me more than not being able to perform for the fans that had tickets and I deeply apologize for any inconveniences this unfortunate situation has caused anyone..as we have many losses to recover as well at this point. Till we meet again UK LOVE THE FUCK OUT OF YOU AND IRELAND!!”
