Festivalgoers have taken to social media to report that Coachella‘s Do LaB stage has been closed after a speaker reportedly fell and injured an attendee.
This year’s edition of the festival is back at its usual spot in the desert in Indio, California, having kicked off its first weekend last night (April 10), with more than 100 acts set to perform across eight stages over the coming days.
Highly anticipated by fans, the Do LaB stage is widely considered a “festival within a festival”, given its artists aren’t listed on the main Coachella poster. Having been a fixture at the festival for over two decades, each year typically sees a few surprise guests play, previously including the likes of DJ Snake and Billie Eilish.
However, the site was closed last night (April 10) after an alleged incident involving a speaker, leaving the fate of the rest of this weekend’s performances up in the air.
In a video shared to X, a festival worker can be seen standing beside the taped-off stage, explaining that “a speaker fell and injured somebody, so we had to close”. With no official statement on the matter having come from the festival yet, fans have taken to the Coachella subreddit to share updates.

“I was there, one of the speakers fell on someone during [John] Summit‘s set,” one user alleged. “She was badly injured I think.” However, another user claimed the speaker fell during a set from Jigitz.
Many have been left confused by the incident, and conflicting stories emerging on social media have prompted many to ask when Coachella would officially address it.
“Pretty lame there’s been nothing official on either Do Lab or Coachella’s socials about this,” one wrote. “There’s not even an update in the app.”
NME has reached out to Coachella for comment.
As for the rest of the weekend, you can find set times here, along with details on how to watch the festival online.
In other news, Jack White has been confirmed for Coachella 2026 weekend one as a last-minute addition, while Lambrini Girls appear to have been dropped from the line-up. Elsewhere, headliner Karol G has said that she has been warned not to say “ICE out”, as doing so could lead to her losing her visa.
Other acts on the bill at Coachella this year include The xx, The Strokes, Nine Inch Noize (Nine Inch Nails and Boys Noize), Disclosure, Turnstile, Geese, Ethel Cain, KATSEYE, Addison Rae, Labrinth, David Byrne, Interpol, Alex G, BIGBANG, Laufey, Iggy Pop, FKA Twigs and Wet Leg.
