Snoop Dogg is one of the musical artists coming up in the biopic pipeline. It's called Snoop, and it's set for release on Aug. 6, 2027, with Hustle & Flow's Craig Brewer directing. The film's been in development since at least 2022, and last year Jonathan Daviss was cast as Calvin Broadus himself. Since then, a bunch of other key roles have been cast, including Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre, Algee Smith as Warren G, Camron Jones as Tupac Shakur, Tre Hale as Suge Knight, Corey Champagne as Nate Dogg, Olly Sholotan as Kurupt, Jonica Booth as the Lady Of Rage, Laya DeLeon Hayes as Snoop's wife Shante Broadus, and Lauren London as his mother Beverly Tate.More actors were announced today, including one with a significant musical heritage. SwayvoTwain — aka Michael Archer Jr., the son of R&B icons D'Angelo and Angie Stone and a recording artist in his own right — will play the Notorious B.I.G., Variety reports. This will be his first significant acting role. Bentley Green will portray RBX, while West Coast rap veteran G Perico has signed on to play Big Reecie Cup.
