Last month, LA-based queer/trans electropop-bass duo Alli Logout and Margo XS, who release incredibly magnetic music as deBasement, dropped their knockout single "STAY IN YOUR LINE." I'm happy to announce that that single is part of a new EP HARDBODY that's coming July 17 via In Real Life Records. They've announced the upcoming project with the new single "CUT THE LINE," which is a detailed account of all the dumb bullshit and annoying people one can encounter on a late night out. Not to mince words, but it's brilliant.
In a press release, the duo shared a statement on the forthcoming EP:
HARDBODY is a state of being, one we are molded into in order to survive. It traces the link between auto and body, and the perversions that mutate from this place: how the self becomes mechanical and hard, a vessel we adorn, modify, and transform, but one that at its core can only be rocked by some sort of spectacular crash. The record lives in these tensions between self-preservation, self-destruction, and ecstasy, where desire and transformation become tools for both survival and collapse. Each track moves through these conditions in different forms, highlighting end-times anxieties and reveling in our perversions along the way.
