Def Leppard Announce Volume 4 Box Set, Unveil Unreleased Beatles Cover: Stream

Def Leppard have announced Volume 4, the next box set in a series of six containing their complete recorded output, due out November 13th. The set is comprised of the group’s most recent three studio albums alongside 41 rare tracks, including a previously unheard cover of the Beatles’ “Revolution” that was recorded for a TV ad that never materialized (listen below). “Revolution” is rendered in a glam rock arena-sized format. Def Leppard, unsurprisingly, sink so comfortably into the song you’d hardly be able to tell it was a Beatles original if it weren’t so famous already. Their strong Beatles influence across their body of work makes their comfort with the track expected with its existence providing a missing link to understand their sound for those who view them primarily as a glam metal powerhouse. The box set will be available in a CD and vinyl edition composed of six discs and 11 platters respectively.
