DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ – “You Didn’t Tell Me You Didn’t Need Me”

The prolific memory-exploring dreamweaver DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ probably doesn't use too much vinyl, so Andrew Garfield might have some feelings about her decision to use the term "DJ" twice in her name. But there's nobody else who conjures so much feeling out of recombining obscure records and familiar aesthetics. She can and should call herself whatever she wants.

It's been a little less than a year since DJ Sabrina released Fantasy, her last album. In the time since then, she has remixed Wednesday and released the singles "HeartsDesires," "Still Standing," and "Junior Beat." On Friday, she noted that she'll have a new album "hopefully" out before the end of the year, and she shared the new track "You Didn't Tell Me You Didn't Need Me," a dreamy seven-minute vibe-out that gets lushly funky with '80s R&B textures.
