Dovetail – “if you let me (nsii)”

Almost a year ago, Dovetail released a very beautiful track called "raining here, too." In the fall, I caught them at New York's beloved Night Club 101 opening for Ken Park; the two Vassar students wore angel wings on their backs and played dreamy songs that swallowed the whole room. Now, the duo is sharing a new tune titled "if you let me (nsii)."

"This song has been a long time in the making, with Naomi [Sullins] initially writing it while she was still in high school," Brynne Mershon explains. "After forming Dovetail, we brought in some of our solo material to reconsider and rework for our duo format, which is when the song took the form it's in now. We're still drawing from a lot of the same influences as 'raining here, too' — 90's-era dream pop and shoegaze (Slowdive, Mazzy Star) and 2000s lo-fi singer-songwriter projects like the Microphones — but are expanding our sonic palette with some grunge and psych influences on this track."

It's another alluring, ethereal sprawl that feels as haunting as it does enchanting. Listen below.
