DREAM THEATER Streams "Night Terror", Announces New Record Parasomnia

1 month ago 9

The wait is over! Dream Theater has announced their first record with drummer Mike Portnoy since 2009 named Parasomnia, due out February 7. Dream Theater is streaming the first single "Night Terror" above in all its lengthy, heavy glory alongside a pretty dark music video directed by Mike Leonard.

"Night Terror" certainly feels like Dream Theater picked up where they left off with Black Clouds & Silver Linings in 2009, maybe with a touch of that Systematic Chaos heaviness thrown in there for good measure. And while it's not mentioned, I'm willing to bet the cover for Parasomnia is a callback to Dream Theater's character and bedroom on the cover of Images & Words.

Parasomnia was produced by Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci, engineered by James "Jimmy T" Meslin, and mixed by Andy Sneap. Hugh Syme has also returned once again to lend his creative vision to the cover art.

Pre-orders for Parasomnia are available here. You can also catch Dream Theater at one of their very many 40th anniversary world tour dates below. Tickets are available here.
