The mystery of who was behind the project known as DUSA puzzled fans — that is, until recently.

The duo revealed themselves to be none other than the soon-to-be-married couple Luke Forgay and Lydia Stockar. This announcement was unique in many ways, as many couldn’t help but connect the beautiful symbolism of the partnership in music and life unfolding right in front of their eyes.

It’s clear why the duo chose their latest track, “Tell Me,” to accompany the revelation of the true identities behind the DUSA moniker. Its genre-be-damned frequencies embody their passion for awakening the senses and reimagining the electronic music landscape. Hey guys, thanks for stopping by and letting us get to know you more! Let’s start from the beginning. Can you talk about the moment that led to your decision to become not just partners in life, but in music as well?

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us! Absolutely, we met at a music festival through mutual friends, so music has always been a large part of our relationship. It was one of those things that felt like it was meant to be. Luke was producing before we decided to form DUSA, and we eventually saw that our strengths and weaknesses complemented each other. This was something we could do together, which is our main focus. It just made sense to pursue this project together.

The birth of “Tell Me” prompted you to shed light on your duo moniker. I can’t help but feel that this unveiling of a collaboration in sound is a beautiful symbol of your upcoming marriage. How did it feel to take this step in your relationship together?

It felt amazing; having someone who understands you through your flaws and strengths is invaluable. We both feel incredibly lucky to have found each other, the journey has been a great experience.

Regarding your musical creativity, do you each tend to have a specific job, or are you both pretty fluid with the process?

We both have strengths that we lean into. Luke produces the music and handles the photography and filming, while Lydia manages the general creative direction, fashion and design work, and social strategy. We are constantly sharing cool ideas that we can put our own spin on. We would pursue these interests even if we didn’t have the DUSA project; this is just who we are as individuals.

Everyone knows people don’t always see eye to eye when work meets play. How do you two navigate roadblocks in your creative space and not let it bleed into your personal life?

We are mindful of giving each other’s ideas the respect they deserve and trying them out, even if one of us initially doubts their potential. We understand that we might not fully grasp the other’s pitch until we see it in action. We also trust each other’s tastes and genuinely appreciate our individual styles, so it’s exciting to watch the other come up with an amazing idea.

We can’t help but be curious about your big day. Do you have any special sets planned to play out for your guests?

Absolutely! We have a little afters planned on the schedule once the normal festivities are done.

Do you have any advice that you’d like to share with couples thinking about starting a project together that you wish you would have known?

Put your relationship first. Having a solid foundation is key to anything lasting. We are both people who go all in when doing something, which makes things easier. We also try not to take it too seriously; it should be fun. It’s about learning about each other just as much as it’s about the project.

You already have such a packed year. Is there anything else on the horizon for your project that you’d like to share?

This is just the beginning — we have so much planned. We’re working on a bigger body of work, definitely more music. We are very excited to continue to build and share our story!
