Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has spent its 22nd consecutive week atop the Billboard Hot 100, tying the all-time record held by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” If Langley’s out-of-the-blue country smash holds its position for one more week—as it seems on track to do—it will officially become the longest-running No. 1 single in U.S. chart history.For 23 years, Carey’s own “One Sweet Day,” a duet with Boyz II Men from her 1995 album Daydream, held the title she now shares with Langley, with 16 weeks spent at No. 1.
