Emo group Daydream Plus’ video game-inspired chiptune album is finally available to stream

Emo math-rockers Daydream Plus have made their video game-inspired remix album available to stream after previously releasing it as a NES cartridge. READ MORE: This emo band found the nerdiest way to release an album – on a retro games console Daydream Plus, which features members of death metal group Tomb Mold, released their debut album ‘Second Last Day Of Summer’ in July. The gorgeous instrumental record was inspired by Jimmy Eat World and American Football as well as math-rock pioneers Lightning Bolt and Don Caballero. The group also took inspiration from chiptune groups Anamanaguchi and Diasterpeace, who create high-energy electronic music using retro games consoles, and iconic gaming soundtracks such as Final Fantasy 7, EarthBound and Sonic Adventure. As well as ‘Second Last Day Of Summer’, Daydream Plus created chiptune remix album ‘Extended Forecast’ which reimagined the original songs as 8-bit video game tracks.
