Entourage Creator Calls Commercial With Jeremy Piven, Adrian Grenier “Trash and Theft”

Doug Ellin, creator of Entourage, absolutely hates a gambling commercial that appears to have lifted the show’s style and characters, and HBO is enraged too, at least according to one report. A recently released commercial for Betr, Jake Paul’s betting platform, reunited Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier, who played Ari Gold and Vincent Chase, respectively, in Entourage, for a scene that is more than reminiscent of the show and mimics the characters’ dynamic. Ellin was unequivocal in his disdain. “I have zero positivity in watching things I busted my ass (off) on for years (be) turned into garbage . . . Go create your own shit,” he said in a social media post a day after the commercial was revealed. “This is trash and theft.” Ellin continued his diatribe in another post, saying “Many people worked really hard to make our show as good as it was. When I see cheap, shitty imitations that try to pass for what we did it makes me puke.” The creator and producer may not be the only one that’s pissed.
