Fontaines D.C. confirm fifth album is coming

Concrete details are yet to be announced, but it's two years to the month since Romance, the Dublin-formed band's fourth record, which appeared on numerous best-of-year lists. It saw them move to the XL label after three albums on Partisan, join the No Music for Genocide boycott, and tour widely in support. Lead single "Starburster" became their first to chart in the UK.

Last week, the band debuted two new songs, "Marianne" and "Six Shot Morning", in first full headline show of 2026, at Baluarte de la Candelaria in Cádiz, Spain. It was also their first show since the sudden death of Trevor Dietz, 47, the band's long-time manager, whom they worked with since the very beginning.

Along with Gorillaz and Lewis Capaldi, the band will headline Ireland's Electric Picnic music and arts festival later this month.
