Future Announces New Album The Real Me: Hear “Radio”

5 hours ago 3

Earlier this week, elder rap hedonist made his first appearance in our Number Ones column. It won't be his last. Future has been making an impact on popular music for a very, very long time. His first #1 hit was also his 125th chart hit on the Hot 100. He's a defining generational star. A couple of years ago, he helped ignite the Drake/Kendrick Lamar beef when Kendrick launched his opening volley on the Future/Metro Boomin collab "Like That." A few months ago, old collaborators Future and Drake reunited on Drake's #2 hit "Ran To Atlanta." Future simply continues to float above the fray, and now he's got a new album on the way.

Today, Future drops his new single "Radio," which has a ghostly, melodic beat from producers Wheezy, Taurus, and Dez Wright. Despite the title, the hook is Future insisting that the song is not for the radio. It's mostly one long verse of Future singing romantically about not being a romantic. In the video, he hangs out with a bunch of pretty girls.

"Radio" is our first taste of a new Future album called The Real Me. It'll be his first full-length since 2024, the year that he released three of them — the Metro Boomin collabs We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You and the solo effort Mixtape Pluto. The Real Me doesn't have a tracklist or anything yet, but it's coming out next month. Watch the "Radio" video below.

The Real Me is out 7/10 on Freebandz/Epic, and you can pre-order it here. Also, I hope this is the real cover art:
