Gal Gadot criticizes DC Studios for cancelling ‘Wonder Woman 3’ and Henry Cavill departure

Gal Gadot has criticised DC Studios for cancelling the third Wonder Woman movie, as well as the firing of Henry Cavill from the role of Superman. The star was cast in the title role of 2017’s Wonder Woman, the first female-led movie in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), which led to the 2020 sequel Wonder Woman 1984. She would also make cameos in the second Shazam film, and appeared in 2023’s The Flash, which was her last appearance in the role. The DCEU was wound down in 2023, replaced by a new continuity titled the DC Universe, with James Gunn at the head of the newly-formed DC Studios. The new timeline, which began on the big screen with last year’s Superman, meant the previous DCEU stars were no longer part of their plans. In December 2022, Henry Cavill announced he would not be reprising the role of Superman, despite being assured he would be returning after making a cameo in the movie Black Adam.
