Every time I see someone posting about Gelli Haha, they seem smitten. The electronic pop singer's personality (smartly promoted as "somewhere between Studio 54 and Area 51") glows just as brightly as her music's neon new wave artifice, so debut album Switcheroo made her a lot of fans last year. With the release of a new track today, it's time to jump on board.
On streaming services, "Klouds Will Carry Me To Sleep" has been added to the end of Switcheroo, which now lists today as its release date. The prior version of the album with only 10 tracks is still on there too with last summer's release date. She really did pull a switcheroo, I guess?
The track, which comes with a pleasingly cartoonish video, bounces along with an icy buoyancy, letting Haha's singsong hooks coexist with laser synths and throttling low end. She conceived the video with Sean Guerin, and David Gutel directed. Watch below.
