GIFT, the New York psych-pop quintet and 2024 Band To Watch led by TJ Freda, are returning early next year with their new album Frenzy For The Thrill. Following the hard-hitting lead single "Hand To The Flame," they're easing up on the gas with the beautifully shimmering space-rock float of new track "Every Step." According to Freda:
Everything comes down to perspective. There's so much happening in the world that matters more than the small things we let upset us. But when those small things feel just as big, guilt comes along with them, and it's easy to feel disillusioned with yourself for not feeling the way you think you should. Perspective follows every step, whether you lean toward hope or toward heaviness. Beauty lives in the broken places, and something broken lives in every beautiful thing.
Listen and watch the accompanying music video, which shows a beaten-up Freda traveling through the city in search of a moment of peace, below.
Frenzy For The Thrill is out 1/15 on Captured Tracks. Pre-order it here.
