The Bowling Green, Kentucky duo – sisters Kenzie on vocals and guitar, Laila on drums – signed to Shultz’s Parallel Vision label in partnership with Big Loud Rock. “Pretty Face” is out now, with a video directed by Emily Buchwald and filmed in a wig store. Laila said: “So many people will hide who they are just to be accepted. Why try to fit in? What does it really add up to?” Kenzie added: “We tracked this one later in the process. It’s heavy, and it puts a stamp on things. To me, it makes a declaration, ‘Listen, we’re not here to play’.” The single follows earlier tracks “Blame”, “Cherry Picker”, “I Know You Know”, and “Again”. This year the pair have toured with Dexter and The Moonrocks, Peter McPoland, and The Rare Occasions, and played festivals including SXSW, Treefort, The Great Escape, Bottlerock, Outside Days, and Bonnaroo. They will play Just Like Heaven next weekend. In November, Girl Tones will set out on their first headline tour, with dates at Mercury Lounge in New York and DC9 in Washington, DC among them.
