The nominees for the 2025 Grammy Awards were announced on Friday morning (November 8th), with some heavyweight acts among the contenders for Best Metal Performance.

Gojira, alongside collaborators Marina Viotti and Victor Le Masne, have been nominated for “Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!),” the song that the French metal masters played during their groundbreaking performance at the Olympics opening ceremony in Paris this past summer.

Two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will also battle it out in the category, as Judas Priest’s “Crown of Horns” and Metallica’s “Screaming Suicide” each received a nod.

Rounding out the competition for Best Metal Performance are two acts who’ve exploded onto the scene in recent years: Canadian metal band Spiritbox with “Cellar Door” and Kentucky hardcore heroes Knocked Loose with “Suffocate” (featuring Poppy).

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will take place February 2nd at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and air live at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on CBS. See an updated list of nominees in all major categories here.
