‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ team are reportedly working on a ‘L.A. Noire’ sequel next

Grand Theft Auto 6 isn’t out until November but according to reports, developers Rockstar Games already know what their next project is. A new report claims that instead of a third game in their beloved open-world Western, the studio wants to revive crime drama L.A. Noire. The original L.A. Noire was developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. Set in 1947, the game followed Cole Phelps as he rose through the ranks of the Los Angeles Police Department. It sold more than 4million copies in its first month and more than 7.5million copies by the end of 2017. Team Bondi dissolved shortly after the game was released. Studio head Brendan McNamara went on to form new studio Video Games Deluxe, which was acquired and renamed Rockstar Australia in 2025.
