Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on November 19th as a single-player title. This means gamers looking to get their multiplayer fix will have to continue signing into the current iteration of Grand Theft Auto Online. According to Twitch CEO Dan Clancy, however, the new GTA 6 multiplayer mode will launch sometime next year.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Clancy claimed he spoke to Rockstar Games about how the company’s vision for GTA 6 could impact streamers. “We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators,” he said. “You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.”
Rockstar has yet to confirm there will be an updated multiplayer mode for GTA 6, let alone when it will release. However, parent company Take-Two recently told shareholders that “we will continue to support GTA Online after [the] GTA 6 release and beyond.”
