GRAVE's '80s Lineup Reunites, First Show Announced

1 month ago 7

Things were looking a little grim for Swedish death metal band Grave earlier this year. Bassist Tobias Cristiansson and guitarist Mika Lagrén left the band, leaving frontman Ola Lindgren and drummer Tomas Lagrén as the only members of the group. Lindgren stated at the time that Grave would attempt to reconfigure themselves, but made no promises.

Now Grave is back and holy shit is their lineup great! The band is now rejoined by drummer Jensa Paulsson who originally played for Grave between 1988 and 2002; bassist Jonas Torndal who originally played for Grave between 1989 and 1992; and guitarist and vocalist Jörgen Sandström, who originally played for Grave between 1988 and 1995. While not explicitly stated, it seems that Lagrén is also out considering the presence of Paulsson.

New school/old school Grave will play their first show at PartySan metal Open Air, where they'll revisit their first three albums – Into the Grave, You'll Never See…, and Soulless. So yeah, these are pretty exciting times for Grave fans!
