Imperial Teen Announce New Album All Over You: Hear “Overdrive”

It's been seven years since Imperial Teen's last album, Now We Are Timeless, but a followup is finally coming. The band — led by Faith No More's Roddy Bottum — is releasing All Over You this fall, and the lead single "Overdrive" is out now."For the last few records, the process has been similar," bassist/vocalist Jone Stebbins explains of the LP. "We live great distances away from each other, so initially, we get together to collaborate, write, and create. When we have enough material, we reconvene to record. Both scenarios, creating and recording, take multiple trips, sometimes with big lapses of time in between due to our various schedules."Drummer/vocalist Lynn Truell adds, "In my head, I just went back to punk, to that feeling of prowling around looking for anything to do and being so mad about how boring everything is that you just have to yell." That explains a lyric in "Overdrive" lifted from the Sex Pistols' "Bodies": "I don't want a baby that looks like that!" This song, though, is more sonically laid-back than the Never Mind The Bollocks anthem, but just as fun.
