James Blake, Travis Scott, & Ludwig Göransson – “When I’m Home”

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, one of the most anticipated films of 2026, is out today. The epic tale called for an equally epic cast, which includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, and even Travis Scott. Scott is also on the movie's original soundtrack, which is available today as well. He contributed to the closing track "When I'm Home," alongside his longtime collaborator James Blake and Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson.

Blake and Scott collaborated before on Scott's last solo album, 2023's Utopia. Blake worked with him on the tracks "Delresto (Echoes)" and album closer "Til Further Notice." This new track feels like it could be a distant cousin of that Utopia work. It's dark and ominous, but it doesn't feel as put together. It feels lost — which is fitting, given the story's premise.

"When I'm Home" is not the celebratory return anthem you might expect after enduring war, being held captive by a powerful sea nymph, encountering a cyclops, having your fellow soldiers turned into pigs, and partnering with the Greek goddess of war and wisdom. It sounds like a nightmare. There's lots of distorted moaning and twinkling melodies, a dark fairytale where both Blake and Scott yell and croon about the whole adventure. "I nailed the trick/ Thosе spells was sick (Sick, sick)/ A lost soul in Troy/ My heart growin' old," Scott recounts later in the track. Given the low bar for most Oscar-worthy original songs, it feels like a shoo-in for nomination.
