Now in September 2026, the Jane Doe recanted her story — and she says she made the entire thing up. According to Rolling Stone, the aforementioned former accuser wrote, “Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter never raped me. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever,” in a 12-page declaration filed in Manhattan federal court.The statement left no room for doubt when she added, “There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter. I understand my false accusations have caused Mr. Carter immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone.”Mr. Carter also reportedly dismissed the woman as a defendant in his malicious-prosecution lawsuit against Tony Buzbee.
