It's been quite the glow-up lately for the Historic New Jersey collective, and Jeff Tweedy has been right in the middle of it. The Philadelphia friend group boasts rising talents like Rubber Band Gun, Star Moles, and Sam and Louise Sullivan, the eclectic retro-rocking sibling who Wilco featured at their Solid Sound festival. Star Moles' Emily Moales was with the Sullivans at the fest, and Tweedy is now stumping for her too.Moales released Highway To Hell, her latest Star Moles album, in March. We love it, and we interviewed her about its quirky, retro-tinted indie-pop fare this spring. Turns out Tweedy is also a fan. He often covers songs for his Starship Casual newsletter on Substack, but the recordings are usually behind a paywall.
