KATSEYE Perform On SNL Season Premiere, Appear In Dream Academy Parody

Last night, Sept. 26, was the 52nd season premiere of SNL. King of New York Jalen Brunson hosted and KATSEYE was the musical guest, performing their songs "Hootie Frutti" and "Animal." For the cold open, Ramy Youssef returned as Zohran Mamdani. The rest of the Knicks starting five (Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Josh Hart) also appeared in Brunson's monologue.KATSEYE featured in a pre-taped Dream Academy parody. New featured players Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter were also in the sketch. It's actually very funny, with Reiter and Jane Wickline stealing the skit with their weirdness as characters Margle and Duff, who only made the audition because they witnessed a music exec commit a hit-and-run. They come up with a hit about Newton's cradle. In a sketch that was cut for time, Brunson also played a rapper Young Rell who has to decide to fire people that are paid to be in his entourage. There was also a pre-taped basketball-themed High School Musical parody. Another sketch was a support group for men whose partners were brought onstage at the Usher and Chris Brown tour.
