Lamplight Announce New Album Lick The Spoon, Let It Soften: Hear “Clover”

Lamplight brightened our 2024 with their self-titled debut, recorded with Lightning Bug's Kevin Copeland and released by Western Vinyl. Now the band, led by Brooklyn/Roanoke musician Ian Williams, is back for another round of what they're calling creek-steeped folk.Lick The Spoon, Let It Soften, the second Lamplight LP, will see release in October. "Clover," the song with the lyrics that yielded the album title, is out today as the lead single. It's a fine artifact of drowsy but propulsive indie-folk — a bit twangy, a bit twee, and all the way immersed in moody textures that lend themselves to Williams' weary reflections. "Is your yard still full of clover and white oak?" he sings.
