Land Of Talk Announce New Album LASTS: Hear “4:44”

For the past two decades, Land Of Talk have been one of the underground's most underrated treasures. Since getting the project properly back up and running in 2017 following a hiatus, Lizzie Powell has been steadily dropping new albums at three-year intervals, which means we're due for a new one. Right on cue, Powell has announced a new Land Of Talk LP today.The follow-up to 2023's Performances is called LASTS. Powell created it at a cabin in Harrington, Quebec with longtime collaborators Michael Feuerstack (bass, pedal steel, additional vocals, engineering & mixing) and Michael Belyea (drums, percussion), and it's dropping in November on Saddle Creek.Lead single "4:44" is available now. The song is light and airy yet haunted by melancholy, shaded with a pleasing array of guitar tones and textures, including some great percussive chords that cut through the fog. I like this lyric and the way Powell's conversational delivery emphasizes the melody: "I get it/ It's the way that I said it/ What can I say, I get carried away/ This feeling will stay if I let it."
