Lauren Valentine Kicks Off the Road to Basscon Wasteland

Lauren Valentine kicks off the Road to Basscon Wasteland with a fiery guest mix that gives fans a taste of her hardcore style.

Lauren Valentine is a New York-based producer and DJ with deep roots in the storied history of NYC’s hard dance scene. During her early days as a fan, she continuously sought the sounds of East Coast legends like Rob GEE, DJ Venom, Jen Mas, How Hard, and John Bas. She became entrenched in the scene throughout the years as she found a home in illegal warehouse raves and parties under bridges and city landmarks.

Following the sounds and lights to find these elusive experiences was only half of the fun. Once there, Lauren Valentine experienced the rave scene at its rawest form as attendees were there to make friends, trade kandi, listen to weird music, and, most importantly, dance hard. As she began to find her footing in the scene, she became a part of the live experience as a go-go dancer, hooper, and fire performer. Quickly, however, she discovered that she wanted to be the one behind the decks helping guide this unique movement. Thus, the Lauren Valentine project was born.

Finding hard music, to her, is a way to bridge her lifelong love of music with sharing that vibe on the dancefloor. Combining her musical influences like rock and roll with playing the drums, and delivering vocals, Lauren Valentine has carved a space for herself in the New York hard dance scene. Further, she’s been privileged to learn from some of the New York greats like Mrotek, Sythys, K.O.R.E, and many others.

While she’s a staple in New York’s hard dance scene, she’s no stranger to the event circuit around the USA as she’s taken her project to states like Rhode Island, California, and most recently, Massachusetts for The Homie Collective Campout! Continuing another year full of milestones, Lauren Valentine is finally returning to California for her debut at Basscon Wasteland, where she promises to bring the wicked witch of the East Coast attitude to the West.

Attendees at Lauren Valentine’s performance will be treated to a mix of rawstyle, uptempo hardcore, and a dose of homegrown beats from the best producers the States has to offer. The dancefloor has always been a sanctuary for Lauren, and she aims to bring this feeling to San Bernardino to provide a safe space to unleash darkness and stomp out your energy. She also has a few surprises, so she urges fans to bring their best energy to the pit and be ready to dance their hearts out.

To kick off the Road to Basscon Wasteland, Lauren Valentine stopped by to deliver a high-energy guest mix that gives listeners an idea of what to expect during her debut at the iconic festival this year. Filled to the brim with heaters from homegrown producers like Mrotek, Treachery, Sythys, Distrix, and more, this mix is the perfect warmup for the madness to follow at another great edition of Basscon Wasteland.

New York is a city that is all about diversity, and I love all the diversity in American Hard Dance. We have so many talented producers creating different styles of hard music, and it is amazing to see that all those sounds have their own place to shine. It is beautiful to see so much connection and camaraderie across the country united by hard music. I hope to continue to see the US grow into a thriving community. Those vibes will help spread the sound and bring more local hard music events to give more people the opportunity to experience it and love it as much as we do.
