Designed to spotlight drum and bass artists’ unique sounds and ties to the culture, Louder Than Words debuts with its inaugural release, “The Hidden.” For Lee UHF, intention is everything. It drives Dirtbox Recordings and forms the foundation of his new sublabel and series, Louder Than Words. This project bridges the audio and visual arts, centered around an imprint that challenges contributors to craft one deeply personal, storytelling track. The label boss has kicked off the series himself. “The Hidden” is a dark, heavy drum and bass anthem infused with acid techno elements and rolling rave nostalgia. Through jungle drums and soaring synths, the track serves as a production-heavy homage to the rave culture that shaped Lee. The next chapter of the series arrives on October 16, when New York’s Tekill is set to deliver “Vial Swashbuckler.” Born from a meticulous revision process, this gritty, distorted jump-up track heavily channels the golden era of the Low Down Deep sound from 2012–2015. Bridging his musical journeys, Tekill laces the track with a Gucci Mane sample — a direct nod to his time spent living in Atlanta.
