In a separate tweet, LG responded to a fan who asked: “What happened to not wanting to be in [the Hall Of Fame]?” He replied by jokingly revealing that his mum, Peggy, 83, had persuaded him to embrace the induction.

She confessed at the time that she was relieved to see her sons working together again, following a years-long feud between the two. “It’s great, because nobody wants their kids falling out, do they?” she went on, although she admitted to being nervous about the shows: “I’ll be glad when it’s all just over because it makes me get too stressed.”

A record-breaking six British acts are being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this year, also including Joy Division and New Order (listed as a single nominee), Billy IdolPhil Collins and Sade. They appear in the ‘Performer’ category alongside Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan and more.

In another tweet yesterday, LG said he was “absolutely thrilled to bits” and joked that Oasis “had to pay them to induct us”. Elsewhere, a fan said that Gallagher was “not too good for [the Rock Hall] after all.” He replied: “Nope.”

When reacting to Oasis’ 2024 Rock Hall nomination, Liam wrote: “Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS”. He also discouraged fans from voting for them at the time, calling the event “a load of bollox”.

Gallagher reiterated his sentiments last year, saying the Hall Of Fame was “for WANKERS”. The singer replied to one fan who asked what would happen if they got in, saying: “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER.”

In 2017, Noel was asked by Rolling Stone if Oasis deserved to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. “I certainly think I do,” he replied. “I know what it is [the Hall Of Fame]. I know what it entails and it won’t be happening, OK. They showed me all these exhibits of Oasis stuff. It’s a great place, but I don’t be doing it.”

Meanwhile, Peter Hook has confirmed that he’ll be in attendance at the ceremony when Joy Division and New Order are inducted as a joint act. He dedicated the honour to the late Ian Curtis, too.

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame’s 2026 induction ceremony is due to take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday November 14. A recording will then air in December on ABC and Disney+.

Artists become eligible for inclusion in the Rock Hall 25 years after their first commercial release.

In other news, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has shared more details about his upcoming Live ’25 Oasis documentary, which is said to include “phenomenal” footage of Liam and Noel’s first meeting before the shows began.

Earlier this year, Noel Gallagher revealed that he was back in the recording studio. However, it is currently not known whether this was for new Oasis music or something else. The musician had said previously that he was “back at work” following his Christmas break.

Noel said last month that Liam was on “spectacular form” when the brothers watched Manchester City win the Carabao Cup together at London’s Wembley Stadium.

In February, Noel was awarded the Songwriter Of The Year statue at the BRITs 2026. He thanked his brother and bandmates past and present during his acceptance speech. “Without them, I’d just be a singer-songwriter, and no-one gives a shit about singer-songwriters,” he said.
