Liim to conjure vintage New York rap with second album A Sunflower Garden In Harlem Is Hard To Find

The Harlem-raised artist – whose sound draws together hip-hop, soul and alternative textures around songwriting that leans on his own experience of growing up in Harlem – has traced the record back to his upbringing at Grant Houses on 125th Street, describing it as a chronicle of near-death experiences, life lessons and a pursuit of self-discovery beyond the expectations that came with growing up there. New song "1980" is a retro-styled track that sees fellow NY rapper AJRadico trading verses with Liim in a throwback to Eric B. & Rakim. "Paid In Full and Juice are just two movies that are where I'm from," Liim said of the film's influence on the track. "I grew up in almost every scene, and I think what those movies do for me is they spike memories."
